"Do we have to do this right now?" Jon asks her, trying to get passed her in the hallway of Madison Square Garden.

"Can't you see that I just finished working."  Beth is standing there with Brianna, holding her hand in one hand and divorce papers in the other.

"When did you find the time to file these?"  she barks at him, with tears in her eyes and the divorce papers in her hand. "Why didn't you tell me about this?"  Beth follows Jon down the hallway to his dressing room.  Little Brianna in tow.  Jon Spencer is off backstage with Stephanie somewhere.  Brianna wanted to see her daddy.

Jon, exhausted from just giving 3 hours of himself plops down on his couch, to be attacked by his toddler, looks to her mother and quietly says, "What did you think would happen when you ran off and told no one where you were going?"

"I thought you would understand."  Beth mumbles, trying to maintain eye contact, her eyes burning from the tears.

"Understand that you disappeared?" stressing the word disappeared, "No one knew where you were." His focus goes to Brianna, "Hey baby girl."  His kisses cover her face and she laughs.

"Daddy." the little one exclaims.  "Uncle Richie?" she asks, pointing to the door.

"Uncle Richie is working, Bri.  We'll see him in a little bit."  Beth steps in, "Do you want a juice?"  Beth walks over to Jon's traveling mini fridge and grabs a bottle of apple juice, opening it and handing it to her daughter.  With Brianna's attention redirected, Beth asks Jon, "Why didn't you talk to me about this?"

"Where did you go Beth?" he can't help but snap at her.  He's frustrated that she's being so foolish over it.  In his mind, she can't be surprised.  "Where did you go, wait - why did you leave like you did?  I called the police and reported you missing.  I called in my own investigator to find you.  You were not able to be found.  WHERE DID YOU GO?" she can hear that he's getting angry.  "Where did you have to go that you thought that you had to sneak away?  You went upstairs to shower and poof, you were gone."  He's pissed.  He's pissed because he's hurt.

"I had to take care of Brian and his family." Beth takes a seat next to Jon and reaches over for his hand.  He pulls it away and stands.

"You need to go.  You can leave Brianna here if you want, but you need to go."

"Why?  We need to talk about this.  Why didn't you tell me that you were filing for divorce?" Beth gets louder with each word, "Why didn't you tell me?" her shoulders drop and she starts to cry.

"Beth."  Jon tries to minimize the situation, knowing that it's not easy for her, but he's drawn his line in the sand and she crossed it.  "Please, just go."

"Why haven't you been home?" she continues, "Where have you been for the last few nights?"  she's starting to upset herself even more, letting her mind wander.

"Please just go.  I don't want to do this here, I don't want to do this with her here." he pleads, hoping she'll just go and leave the baby.  "I'll call you in a couple of days and maybe we'll talk."

Beth stands, "In a couple of days?"  With all of the hurt and anger that she feels she has to ask, "Why is it okay for you to go off in the middle of the night to parts unknown but it's not for me?  Is it okay because you left a note, Jon?"  Beth has now reached the point of being more angry than hurt, how can it be okay for one and not the other?

Jon isn't going to argue with her anymore.  He makes sure that Brianna is okay on the couch with her juice, kisses her on the head, "I love you baby girl." he then turns to leave.  He makes it to the doorway with his hand on the handle he opens the door and says back to her, "I'm going through with the divorce.  I can't be married to you anymore."

  1. She has a point. Why is it okay for HIM to go off in the middle of the night and not her? He's being an ass.

  2. She started the whole bing by not telling him about the situaion. He was only trying to protect her when he left & at least he did tell her where he went.
I think her past history of running off somewhere to deal with Her problems on her own has just become too much for him.

  3. I feel bad for Beth. I understand she has a habit of taking off when things get tough but this time she was actually trying to do a good thing and it back fired on her.
I think Jon is being an ass.
