After much consideration and internally fighting with himself, he decides that he needs to go and see how she was.

He knows that she would want him there, she would need him there.  He had the plane ready and the flight plan set.  He kisses his kids goodbye, no telling them where he was going and why.  Pete packed his bag and as he left, he kisses her on her cheek, "Please take care of my babies.  I don't know how long I'll be gone, but I'll be back as soon as I can."

"Tell her that the kids are fine and that I hope that she is alright.  Please keep me posted, Jon.  I care about her too."

"I know you do.  I'll call you when I get there. "  He leaves and gets into the waiting car.  The quick boat ride to the mainland didn't help his anxiety and drove him nuts.  He left the boat and got into his other waiting car.  He's grateful that the trip to the plane was quick.  The sooner he is in the air, the better - making him even closer to her.  His thoughts are of the worst while he hopes for the best.

The trip to Napa was long and he had no one there to keep him company.  Plane rides without Beth were hard to get used to.  Plane rides to get to Beth never ended well, well, not usually.  The flight across country fells like an eternity to Jon.  He searches the internet for details of her crash, but what's hit the wire is vague.  All that he has been able to find is Jon Bon Jovi's wife and unidentified man in car accident in Napa Valley.  Serious injuries reported.  The rock star's wife was southbound on 121, her car leaving the road on a tight curve.  Attached is a picture of her Mercedes Benz, a mangled mass.  Jon knows it's her car, the plate says JoviBon.  When he sees the picture, the urge to vomit was hard to fight.  He knows, in his heart that she's hurt and that she's hurt real bad.

As soon as the plane door opens, Jon bolts across the runway, into the terminal, through the Napa County Airport and to a waiting taxi.  Out of breath and terrified he tells the cab driver, "Get me to the Queen of the Valley Hospital as fast as you can."

The cab driver looks over his shoulder, "Yes, sir."  Without giving it thought, the cabbie reaches over and starts the meter without even having to look, as he does a double take and notices who just jumped in the back of his car.  "Aren't you, that one guy?"

The stink eye is shot to the guy looking at Jon in the rearview mirror now.  "Yes.  Just get me to the hospital as soon as you can, please!?!"  He firmly pleads, knowing that he's so close to Beth.  Jon knows where the hospital is and he knows that he'll be with her in just a little while.

The twenty minute cab ride felt longer than an eternity to Jon.  It seemed that they hit every red light, every stop sign and and every construction project in Napa.  Jon's frustration mounted and mounted to a level that he almost could contain.  He wanted to yell at people that were causing any pause, any delay in this trip.  He's wondering where the hell everyone is going, it isn't even harvest season yet.

The driver pulls the car up to the main hospital entrance.  Jon reaches into his pocket, having only 100 dollar bills in it so he tosses him one, and said, "Thank you!"  And away he runs, his duffle bag in one hand and his phone in the other.  At the front desk, he waits his turn.  There is an elderly couple in front of him, trying to find out where their grand daughter is that just had a baby.  His anxiety is killing him.  When it's finally his turn, his heart sinks a little when he sees that the lady at the help desk is about the age of his average fan.  As soon as she sees him and he sees her face light up, "Where is my wife?"

"Um, you're....you're him.  You're Bon Jovi."  he can see her hands start to shake as she tries to type on the keyboard, looking up Beth's information.

"Please tell me where my wife is."  He leans on the desk top, trying to remain calm.  "What's her room number?"

"I'm going to have to ask you to take a seat.  Someone will be with you in a moment."  Jon sees her facial expression change from elation to a look he doesn't recognize.

"Just tell me where she's at." he barks at her, "Where is my wife?"

"Sir, please have a seat.  Somebody will be here to get you in just a moment."

"Where is my goddamn wife?" he smacks the desk top, frustrated and scared.
"Will you please just tell me where my wife is?  She was in a bad car accident."

Over Jon's right shoulder he could hear a mans voice, "Mr. Bon Jovi."  Jon spins around, "I'm Dr. Rowe, could you come with me please?"

Jon doesn't say a word, just reaches down and picks up his bag, tucking his cell phone in his jean pocket.  He follows the doctor to a room that was just off of the waiting area.  After they enter the room, the doctor closes the door.  "Where is Beth?" he mumbles, quickly glancing around the room.  He can't help but notice that it's very plain and really cold.

"Have a seat, please."  Dr. Rowe gestures toward an empty chair.

Jon complies and has a seat, dropping his bag where it falls.  "Is my wife okay?"

"Mr. Bon Jovi, your wife was in a terrible accident."

"I know, can I see her?" he asks, in a tone that would lead no one a question.

"She was hurt pretty bad.  We believe she was ejected from the car."

"IS SHE OKAY?" he can't contain it anymore.  He doesn't like what he's feeling right now and the doctor is running around his question.
